Stop the Execution of Rodney Reed!
Rodney Reed is scheduled to die by lethal injection in a Texas death chamber on November 20, 2019. The State of Texas will forever alter the course of the capital punishment debate if Reed is put to death. A competent review of the evidence suggests to prominent forensic experts, the Innocence Project, many law enforcement professionals, and politicians from both major political parties that Rodney Reed may very well be an innocent man. It is now undisputed that Texas prosecutors secured Reed’s conviction using junk science. The prosecutor’s own trial experts now concede that critical information provided to the jury was categorically false. The State of Texas has a duty to put a stop to Reed’s execution. No person should go to his death at the hands of the State based on false evidence. Mr. Reed should receive a new trial given the egregious errors underlying his conviction.
